Professional Experience

joanneAs both a mother of a daughter with special needs and as a practitioner, Joanne understands the challenge of finding effective solutions in seemingly impossible situations. Her own experience with doing Neurological Re-organization Programs over twenty-five years ago when her daughter began having developmental delays and then later two major setbacks from illnesses. After trying several therapeutic approaches and seeing very little change, Joanne was introduced to Suzanne Day’s “Neurodevelopment through Movement Program”. With the implementation of this program, Joanne’s daughter began to speak in phrases for the first time since her illness and her personality began to visibly shine.

In more recent years, Joanne has begun an in-depth study of how the brain responds to subtle, intuitive movement. Through this research, she discovered the Anat Baniel Method and its neuroscience-based approach to waking up the brain to overcome severe, chronic limitations. Joanne is a certified ABM NeuroMovement® Practitioner and is continuing her training with the Anat Baniel Method Children’s Mastery for Children with Special Needs.

Personal Experience

Joanne was introduced to neurological re-organization, thirty-five years ago when, as a committed mom, she was looking for answers to address her daughter’s special needs. She diligently worked daily with her daughter using a neurological program tailored from the Association for Neurological Development for over ten years.

This experience led her to use the Neurodevelopment Through Movement program for her daughter and then studied to become a certified practitioner. Experiencing how the movement is the language of the brain, driven to increase her understanding and skills of neuroplasticity, she is striving to give hope to parents who deeply care for their children with special needs.

She is now completing over 600 hours of training with Anat Baniel Method for adults and children.
